Daien Hifu is an inventor, entrepreneur, and Rinzai Zen priest, a product of the Dai Bosatsu Monastery founded by Eido Shimano in upstate New York. Daien created a small Zendo - "The Wild Goose" - on his own estate in Concord Massachusetts, which he opened to the local community. In the 1990's I had the distinction of being his only student. Although I am no longer associated with the community, Zen remains my spiritual foundation.
